The deadline for applications to the Youth Social Action Fund that supports charities and community groups to engage young people in campaigning, volunteering, fundraising as part of a drive to encourage youth social action has been extended to Friday 22nd September, 5pm. This is part of the iwill campaign, funded by Department for Media, Culture and Sports and the Big Lottery Fund who each invested £20 million to transform the culture of community engagement by getting young people involved in greater volunteering opportunities. Grants of £1,000 -£5,000. This fund has its own criteria and online application form.
Currently, 40% of young people regularly engage in social action, such as campaigning, fundraising, and volunteering. The #iwill campaign hopes to increase this to at least 60% of 10-20 year olds taking part, by the year 2020. Step Up To Serve is the charity behind the #iwill campaign.
