Andrew Bliss QPM has been appointed as the new High Sheriff of West Sussex and Richard Bickersteth as the new High Sheriff of East Sussex.
Among the first High Sheriffs to be chosen by King Charles III, Andrew Bliss QPM from Hosted Keynes has been appointed as the new High Sheriff of West Sussex and Richard Bickersteth from Ashburnham is the new High Sheriff of East Sussex.
Speaking about his appointment, Andy Bliss, QPM, MA, FSA , a resident of West Sussex for over 30 years and a former police Chief Constable, says:
“In my year in office, my main focus will be to support those who protect or care for the public – whether judges, the emergency services, criminal justice agencies or voluntary organisations. “
Richard Bickersteth, who was born and grew up in Ashburnham and has had a career in business says:
“I am keen to support and encourage young people, rural communities and all those voluntary organisations who work with them, especially those who are overlooked or vulnerable.”
Sussex Community Foundation enjoys strong relationships with the High Sheriffs of West and East Sussex (which are one year, voluntary appointments) to fulfil their voluntary sector goals.
