Marit and Hans Rausing Fund supports charities and community groups across Sussex addressing the root causes of disadvantage, supporting a broad range of local issues. Grants of up to £5,000 are available and applications should be made on our standard Sussex Community Foundation application form.
Professor Hans Rausing, who lives in Wadhurst, East Sussex is the former Chairman and Chief Executive of Tetra Laval, the company which developed and produced the Tetra Pak drinks carton. The Rausing family are generous supporters of charities and of education nationally and internationally and have supported a wide range of charitable causes in Sussex and Kent for many years. In 2006, Professor and Mrs Hans Rausing set up our first named fund to manage their local giving through the Foundation. They have continued to donate generously since then.
The Burgess Hill Boys Club Young Carers Project (above) received a grant of £4,350 from the Marit and Hans Rausing Fund to organise nine fun days for young carers. You can read more about them here.
