The Field family have been funeral directors for over 300 years starting out in South London and moving to Sussex in the early 1970s. The family company, CPJ Field & Co,  has funeral homes across Sussex and the South East, and is based in Burgess Hill. Currently, three generations of the Field family call Sussex their home. “We approached the Foundation as we liked the idea of a charity that would actually make a difference within our local community, providing funds for smaller groups for whom a small amount can make a big difference,” says Colin Field. “The Foundation ensures the funds go where they’re needed and provides a flexible vehicle through which we can support a variety of local projects, as well as building up endowments for future generations to benefit from.” The Field Family Fund was formed to support charities and community groups in Sussex who support those who serve or have served in the armed forces, those coping with terminal illnesses and who foster citizenship and public service in young people.
