The good neighbourhood scheme provides support within the villages and, due to Covid-19, also implement preventative measures within the community, many of whom are vulnerable, elderly and self isolating. They have experienced a 350 per cent increase in service users, along with the accompanying drain on limited reserves at present and expect this number to rise in the current climate given that they are relieving the pressure on the local care provision. The grant will help fund additional mileage and phone costs for the period of one year.
