Patina was set up to provide creative opportunities for children and young people in Lewes district, giving children the chance to work with professional artists and first-hand experience of the arts in their community. The group’s flagship project is the annual children’s Moving On carnival. Moving On 2021 will have a strongly environmental theme: Wild in the Woods, looking at trees and woodland species, their environmental importance, how they are reflected in children’s literature and art, and also the mental health benefits of spending time in the woods. This grant will support schools’ participation, as they are really struggling during the current pandemic.
