New Roots works to produce healthy organic fruit, vegetables and herbs for people who would otherwise be deprived of these items through higher than average prices. Since founding in 1993 they have been an environmentally friendly, multi-generational project, supporting each other to grow organic food. The grant would be for their annual seed order. They increasingly use seeds that we have swapped with other allotment groups through their Seed Circle set up in 2012, but still need to order organic seeds each year. They will also use the grant to get materials for some maintenance on the site i.e. repairing their greenhouse and reinstating edging to pathways.
