The extreme pressure care home staff are working under during the Covid-19 crisis has made headline news, with staff suffering high levels of fear, stress and anxiety across the sector. The need for psychological support for those working on the front-line is recognised by the NHS, who are setting up programmes of mental health support for their workers. The need of care home staff is no different, and indeed, they have the added distress of caring for people with dementia, and the death of residents they have caring relationships with. This funding will cover staffing, development and delivery of workshops, counselling sessions and licence fees for online anxiety support.
