Gatwick Detainees Welfare Group provides emotional and practical support to 700 men held in two immigration removal centres at Gatwick Airport and after release. While numbers in the centres have been drastically reduced due to Covid-19, many people released from detention face extreme hardship. Rapid emptying of the centres meant many were released to homelessness and destitution. This funding is to assist 25 people with food vouchers and a contribution towards rent for three months.
