Eastbourne Citizens Advice Bureau

CAB provide free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities. They provide advice the problems people face and campaign to improve the policies and practices that affect their lives. They are a local charity whose primary focus is Eastbourne Borough. We will use this funding to provide training and support to our volunteers to enable them to give the advice and help that our clients need. We will also recruit and train new volunteers. We are planning to develop new outreaches in different areas across the town, based on need and will recruit volunteers specifically for this. The training programme for gateway assessors takes about 8 weeks and for advisers can taken over a year. The grant will help with the overheads incurred when working with volunteers, to maintain the systems and resources they rely on to give good advice.
