Centre for Self Managed Learning

Through self-managed learning, people aged age seven to 70 and beyond, take responsibility for defining and achieving their learning goals. With the support of peers and advisers, they decide how, what and when they want to learn and most fundamentally why the learning is important to them. This grant will pay for extra costs and reductions in other support during the coronavirus crisis. The Centre is working closely with all parents and, where children are struggling with their extreme anxieties, supporting parents to do the best they can in their circumstances. Children have been continuing their learning but often in very difficult circumstances. For example, one autistic boy and his severely disabled mother are living together on a small boat. New resources are needed to continue this support and also to adapt the building. This funding will cover Zoom accounts, tablets and laptops, online subscriptions, musical instruments and learning resourses.
