The Field family have been funeral directors for over 300 years starting out in South London and moving to Sussex in the early 1970’s. Since then the family have been significant contributors to the community life of the county. Christine has been both Leader and Chairman of the Mid Sussex District Council and Chairman of the Princess Royal Hospital Trust in Haywards Heath and is now an Ambassador for West Sussex Girl Guides. Colin has been a Magistrate for many years and was the High Sheriff of West Sussex in 2007-08. Since 1995, the family company, CPJ Field & Co which has funeral homes across Sussex and the South East, has been based in Burgess Hill, West Sussex. Currently, three generations of the Field family call Sussex their home. “We approached the Foundation as we liked the idea of a charity that would actually make a difference within our local community, providing funds for smaller groups for whom a small amount can make a big difference,” says Colin Field. “The Foundation ensures the funds go where they’re needed and provides a flexible vehicle through which we can support a variety of local projects, as well as building up endowments for future generations to benefit from.”
