We work closely with range of statutory partners to help them support the voluntary sector in East Sussex, West Sussex and Brighton and Hove.
We hold funds on behalf of each local authority, such as the East Sussex Seedcorn Fund which funds groups piloting innovative approaches to delivering services (more information here) and the Brighton and Hove Community Health Fund which makes funds small community groups in the city working on community-led health improvement projects.
In 2012, we worked with West Sussex County Council to deliver a fast-track small grants programme, Warm Homes Healthy People, funding groups such as Summersdale Afternoon Club pictured above who run a weekly year-round social club for older people living near Chichester. We also work closely with other partners such as the Sussex Police whose Community Cashback Fund held with us returns cash obtained through criminal activity back to Sussex communities.
First grants from Community Cashback went to groups such as the homelessness charity Snowflake Trust in Hastings. Watch this film to hear more about their work and why they do it.
